Collis O’neil Ashby

Our beloved COLLIS O’NEIL, affectionately called “Mr. T”, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday September 14, 2021 at the age of 62. Resident of Evergreen Road, Gall Hill, Christ Church and Mechanic Supervisor of the National Conservation Commission (NCC).

Grandson of the late Violet Daniel; Son of the late Neville Daniel and Icilma Ashby

Husband of Monica Ashby; Father of Simone Layne-Hewitt and Neil Greenidge

Grandfather of 2; Stepfather of Marva Maynard, Karen and Dwayne Straughn and 3 others

Brother of Anthony and Charmaine Ashby, Lester and Lorraine Pinder

Nephew of Sylvan Ashby and the late John, Ivan and Chelston Daniel

Uncle of Kareem and Terrell Ifill, Lesly-Ann Pinder and Tamika Ashby

Great-uncle of 1; Cousin of Moreen and Jeffrey Daniel and many others too numerous to mention

Relative of the Ashby, Daniel, Pinder, Straughn, Clarke and Suttle families

Friend of Mark Clarke, Robert, Richard and Barbara Welch (all of the USA), Junior Walrond, Glendon Welch, Jeffrey Pilgrim, Neville Phillips, Edwin Warner, Rita Bolden, Christopher Maynard, Eleanor Straughn and the staff of the NCC.

A Service of Thanksgiving celebrating the life of Collis O’neil Ashby will take place at Christ Church Parish Church on Thursday September 30, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. The cortege will then proceed to Christ Church Cemetery for the interment.

Viewing takes place at St. George’s Home for Funerals, Carmichael House, Carmichael, St. George, on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and an hour before the commencement of the Service at the Church. The Organist and Members of the Choir are kindly asked to attend. Flowers may be delivered to St. George’s Home for Funerals no later than 11:00 a.m. on the day of the funeral. All COVID protocols will be observed. No mourning colours, by special request.
