A remembrance poem or funeral reading can be a wonderful way of saying your final goodbyes to a loved one. It is often considered an important part of any funeral service, religious or not, and can bring comfort at this difficult time. In fact having an elegy – poem in tribute, makes your tribute unique as it would be specifically written in tribute of the departed.
In Loving Memory poems are used for funerals and memorial services. The poem can be part of a tribute, prayer, eulogy or reading. Remembrance poems are sometimes included in funeral and memorial printing , such as funeral programs, memorial bookmarks, memorial cards and keepsakes. Why not consider having a unique piece offered on your behalf to a family grieving the loss of their loved one?
So how do we go about putting your elegy together? Here’s how we do it… We write everything down, we consider the moments which are shaded to best celebrate the memory. Maybe there was a favourite scarf, cap, shoe, or chair that they preferred. Something that they held close or some thing which was representative of how they got along, maybe the way that they walked or talked even.
Once a thread has been determined then we can work based on this theme to then add some rhythm and structure.
If there is some religious quote that you want to reference and include this is of course also welcomed. The elegy (poem) tribute is then tastefully presented as per your request…
Additionally you can also feel free to place the personalised tribute on our Obits 246 – Page of Memory.
