Olivier St. Clair Cox (G.C.M), aged 88, late of Bibby’s Lane, St. Michael and formerly of Peterkin Road, Bank Hall, St. Michael. Founder and Principal of the Metropolitan High School, Night Institute and Bookshop, Roebuck Street, St. Michael. Former Organist of St. Philip-the-Less, Boscobel, St. Cyprians and Belmont Methodist Churches.
Son of the late Jonas and Blanch Cox.
Beloved husband of Valda Branch-Cox.
Father of Joyce Chase, Carol Waithe, Mona Cox-Lewis, Lisa Ruck, Karen Cox-Franklyn, Tessa Cox-Halford (UK), Valwayne Cox and the late George and Grace Cox.
Devoted grandfather of Peter and Keisha Cox, Marriana Shepherd and 15 others.
Great-grandfather of 13.
Brother of the late George and Edward Cox. Uncle of Sharon Cox-Gould and Adrian Cox (both of Canada).
Father-in-law of Reverend Byron Waithe, Wendell Chase, Clairmonte Lewis and William Halford (UK).
Godfather of Brian and Sydwin Inniss. Friend of Canon George Harewood, Reverend Trevor Daniel and family, Reverend Noel and Hazel Burke, Louis Forde and family Ernest and Dorothy Marshall, the Belmont Church family, Bryant’s Travel Group, former Members of Staff and past students of the Metropolitan High School and many others.
A Service of Thanksgiving for the late Olivier St. Clair Cox (G.C.M) will take place at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at The Belmont Methodist Church, My Lord’s Hill, St. Michael, followed by the Interment at Westbury Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to Tudor’s Funeral Home no later than 8:45am on Wednesday. Viewing will take place in the Chapel of Tudor’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 14th from 3:00pm until 5:00pm.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, attendance at the Church Service is by invitation only.
